The internet goblins ate my internet for a week. Then I threatened to round house kick those goblins in the face, and they gave it back
yes, apparently it is a real thing
Nothing new to report except we’re going on OUR CRUISE in 3 freaking days! I’m bouncing between excitement and anxiety. Excited to have my first vacation that’s actually a vacation in about 2 years (we went to Hawaii in June, and while fun, not a vacation with a 4 month old in tow) and anxiety over leaving my daughter for 4 days. We leave Wednesday at 4, which means she needs to be at grandmas and grandpas after her first nap, and we come back Sunday at around 9. That’s literally 96 hours without my baby. BUT IT ALSO MEANS I CAN SLEEP IN. I’m so confused on my emotions. I was talking about with my husband yesterday, then started crying. He tried to find my meds, I told them i downed them during the newborn period. wah wah.
I can’t help but feel guilty leaving her that long. If this cruise hadn’t been already paid for for us I seriously would probably back out. I just don’t feel right leaving her for this long..but then again..how can anyone WANT to leave this..
this is her “How YOU doin’?” face
I miss her already, and she’s right in front of me (no, not on the bed. I’m not crazy. just sticking knives into outlets)
Here’s the week in review
1 mile run, weighted vest
5 rounds for time
25 double unders
10 push press (85# RX)
15 pull ups
rest 2 min between rounds
I did 75# for the push presses. I got in a really good rhythm around round 3 of catching the bar in my starting position, so i could immediately drive into the next press. once I got that rhythm, I think I could have done 85#. All double unders unbroken, pull ups in 2-3 sets..usualyl the first set was 12-8 reps.
1 mile run, weighted
POWER LIFTING CLASS
5RM SUMO DEADLIFT (i got to #175)
6×2 DL @175# with 45 sec rest
3 rounds, MAX EFFORT
lunges-#95 *front rack*
banded pull throughs
I got about 18-20 reps per round for lunges, and 14-16 reps per round for pull throughs. Lunges are easy for me for some reason-short legs!
1 mile weighted RUN
hi-hang snatch 5-4-3-2-1
I got to 75# for that final REP
snatch deadlift 5-4-3-2-1
I only loaded the bar to 135# because we did deadlifts the night before and we were doing them again Friday
1 mile weighted run
5-4-3-2-1 snatch high pulls
did some drills after class with 85# of high pulls. I have the strength to power snatch that weight with no problem, just need to get it over my darn head
Hatch Squat Cycle-day 3
Back Squat(HIGHBAR)-1×10 @ 90, 1×8 @100, 1×6 @105, 1×6@115, 1×6@125
Front Squat-1×5@75, 1×5@85, 1×5@95, 1×5@95
That 125 always feel super heavy, but I think Highbar is just really hard for me for some reason. i need to do them because they translate better to oly lifting but I have really long femurs, so my “lever” is always off. Front squats are feeling REALLY good though
4X500 m row sprints, 2 min rest between
I got 1:57, 2:04, 2:03, 2:03. I need to really focus on that pull. I did a 500 m EASY row later on in the week, and just focused on driving with the legs and I did it in 1:59, so my sprint should be a lot faster. Marathon month is almost over so I might spend some extra time later on after class focusing on that pull
2 mile weighted run with vest
5×5 ring dips and C2B (banded)
Strict pRESS-3-3-3-3-3 (increasing load
Went up to 75#
Push Press 3-3-3-3-3 (45 sec rest between each, increasing load)
went up to 90#
3 rds, ME each exercise
my arms were fairly shot afterwards
U.S. Army Specialist Donald L. Nichols, 21, of Shell Rock, Iowa, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry Regiment, Iowa Army National Guard, based in Waterloo, Iowa, died April 13, 2011, in Laghman province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Roger and Becky Poock; his father and stepmother, Jeff and Jeanie Nichols; and his brothers, Nick and Joe.
deadlifts (155RX women)
I did #125. based on my time, I may have been able to do #135 BUT not higher. I think doing body weight deadlifts were a good idea for this one…unless your deadlift is 275# OR HIGHER, doing RX’d would probably really hurt your back
1.25 mile weighted run
DONE WITH MARATHON MONTH-ALL IN A VEST!
5×5 handstand holds (30 sec)
5×5 kipping HSPU at home
5×4 OHS @ #70
5×5 snatch balances @ 45#
Olympic lifting class
Oly Meet-3 attempts to find Clean & Jerk 1RM and Snatch 1RM
Clean & Jerk-105#
My shoulders were so shot from this week that I couldn’t clean to save my life. boo. I should be a lot higher than this. My 1RM PR is #115- I should be close to, if not at a BW clean&jerk
5X4 BACKSQUAT/PUSH PRESS COMBO
kept these light due to shoulder and doing squats on sunday
Hatch Squat Cycle-day 4
Backsquat-1×10@90, 1×8 @105, 1×8@115, 1×8@125
did low bar until the end for my knees
front squat-1×5@75, 1×5@80, 1×5@85, 1×5@85
these felt REALLY good today. like awesome good
push-up “bring sally up, bring sally down” cash out
BECAUSE WHY NOT
2 mile run
it was so nice out!
Some of this weeks highlights were..
Chicken sausage, roasted asparagus and mashed cauliflower “faux-tatoes” with butter
Flame Broiler- chicken mini bowl, extra chicken, no rice (so basically just steamed veggies and chicken)
Spaghetti Squash Bolognese
sTEAK and roasted potatoes
Spaghetti Squash carbonora with homemade pesto
Except for the potatoes and sauce on flamé broiler chicken-all Paleo and all TASTY. Spaghetti squash is AMAZING….for some reason I thought roasting it would be harder than it was but it was SUPER easy.
Did you miss me?
Did you read that entire word vomit comet about my workouts and guilt?
What do you do when the internet goblins eat your internet?
